Out in the yard today trying to fix up an originally bodged bit of plumbing to Chez Sledge.
Crappy bit of pipe became dislodged from the rain water tank during the storms last week and had to be stuck back on with brackets and silicon sealant.
Met one of the neighbours who alerted me to the front page of today's Minjup Examiner.
Currently, where I am, we're zoned semi-rural, mostly because there's a bloody great trench between our properties and the street that floods in a light shower.
(Good for frogs but.)
We have to keep it clear, but the Council can do what it likes with it.
Mostly, they dig around making sure it's actually impossible to maintain.
And re-camber the road so we get all the run off.

So to the front page news: Minjup and immediate environs are to be subject to a new "urban development" project co-ordinated by a bloody Sith Ifrican MBA "with more than 20 years experience in statutory and strategic planning".
(You can sense disaster in my tone already I hope.)
The Examiner says we will change from "a sleepy country town to a small city of 35,000 people".
(They missed out the word "being" as their so-called journos are non-literate.)
I wonder where they trained?

Thinking back to a previous post, this Mr X van der Y (MBA) is going to be my top candidate for the live expert trade.
If not, looks like I'll have to fly South by next winter or end up back in ferkin Fremantle.
