Learned something new from the Times crossword in the Oz today.
The clue was "A bird-brained bird? (9)" and the answer: THICKHEAD.
Turns out that Thickheads are a family of Australian birds (Pachycephalidae): Bellbirds, Shrike-thrushes and Whistlers.
Includes one of my real favourites, the Golden Whistler (Pachycephala pectoralis).

There's a relatively tame one that comes down to nick food from BBQ tables at the Castle Rock picinic area in the Porongurups.

Suspect there's also at least one Thickhead in Minjup this morning.
Yours truly.
