112.8 million to 1

Been ages since I've been in touch; largely as an effect of:
a) bugger all happening;
b) the First Test against India;
c) considerations of closing the Minjup Diary altogether.

Re the latter: I read that there are currently 112.8 million active blogs.
What chance of anything even remotely like an audience?
More chance of getting one with the Pope.
Or winning first prize in the lottery.

The final nail in the potential coffin came yesterday in the cartoon on the back to the Weekend Australian Review.
It shows two down-and-outs sitting in the street with what appear to be bottles of sherry in brown paper bags.
The first is saying "I'm thinking of starting a blog".
The second, taking a swig, is thinking "There goes the neighbourhood".
Reminded me of a couple of blokes I know.

If I continue with the Diary, I now have to realise that it's a form of self-communication.
Meditation?
Prayer even?
(Why am I writing this, and to whom?)
