Just heard that Studs Terkel has died.
All of us who try our best to write in the name of freedom, equality and basic human dignity will miss him.
How the fuck you do this in America today, or then, or ever, I don't know.
(Why does no-one remember that the whole thing started as an escape from oppression?)
Those who know him -- in whatever way -- will miss him.
