In fact, it’s a gas

gas plant, noun
an aromatic Eurasian plant of the rue family, with showy white flowers and fragrant leaves that emit a flammable vapor. This can sometimes be ignited without harming the plant. Also called burning bush, dittany, fraxinella. Dictamnus (formerly Fraxinella) albus, family Rutaceae.

One of the answers in today’s crossword prompted me to look this up in the dictionary. Hence the following:

There once was a singer called Britney
And this ditty was part of her litany:
“I can light plumes of gas
That spurt from my ass
When I’ve swallowed a whole bunch of dittany”.

((The less said about the possibility of ‘burning bush’ the better.))
