While in MR, I was looking forward to eating at the Arc of Iris.
My last visit was a while ago and I remember it being very unpretentious but with great food.
No menus, everything scrawled on a blackboard, fetch your own non-matching glasses and cutlery ... hippie chicks delivering food rather than "waiting on tables" ... that sort of schtick.
Some time ago, apparently, it was invaded by the French, changed its name slightly to "Ze Arc of Iris" and is now considerably more up-market -- though not yet pretentious.
And The Duck (not quite what it used to be -- Ze Canard?) is still on the menu.

Aren't ducks wonderful?
I love to see them flying around, floating about, picking snails out of the lawn, being generally cute and making a very agreeable sound.
And I like eating them.
