Virgin on the Verge

Minjup braces itself today for another 40º+ celsius.
(Isn't it interesting that the imperative, "Brace Yourself!", is necessarily doomed to failure?)
And, more importantly, it's the start of verge-chuck-out week.
Cruised around in the ute looking for left-out rolls of carpet which, regulars will remember, is my method of destroying weeds sans resort to chemicals.
Not a sausage.
Last year I found yards and yards of the stuff, plus a few reconstructable rugs.
So I wonder what's going on.
Is there something in the (otherwise wonderul) Minjup water that leads people to re-carpet in certain years and not in others?
Can't be the telly ads for carpets and rugs: they're still screaming "massive reductions" at us on an hourly basis.
Or ... just maybe ... my eco-friendly and incredibly effective method is catching on.

The best thing I saw on my tour de recyclage was ... a boat!
Not a big one to be sure, but made of wood and a small cabin up near the pointy end.
Now that's serious conspicuous de-consumption.

Back later when I've checked Millbrook and Moribundup who start their collections next week.
